SURFACE-SEQUENCEMurat Pulat, one of the most sought after contemporary artists in Turkey of recent years, opens his first solo show in continental Europe in the Netherlands on 4th October 2015. Pulat has captured the attention of collectors from around the world with the inclusion of his works in international auctions between the years 2011 and 2014. During this time, he became one, if not maybe the first, young Turkish artist to be widely sought after. The great interest shown in his works over the past four years since 2011 begat at Contemporary Istanbul, the region’s premier art fair, which has been the primary reason for his increased fame inside and outside Turkey. Additionally, Pulat’s solo show in New York in January 2014 was a big success. His art pieces are particularly inspired by movie sequences of new wave overture directors. By reproducing these scenes on canvas, he truely incorporates these images into life. Surface-Sequence is a large-scale show comprising Pulat’s most recent works. Each work is both calm, passionate and vivid. Held at Mark Peet Visser Gallery, which is one of the most significant contemporary art institutions in the Netherlands , and in conjunction with ALAN Istanbul, the show can be visited between October 4th – October 25th, 2015.
